Georgia

Jimmy and I decided we needed to take a summer trip as a family of 3 before our fall arrival of number 2.  We debated for a little bit on where to go but quickly decided we'd go back to Georgia to see our friends and visit Jimmy's family.

On our anniversary (happy 4 years!), we flew out to Atlanta.  Brayden did great on the plane and the trip even though it kept him up WAY past his bed time.  By the time we finally got into our rental car it was after 11pm Atlanta time so as soon as we got moving on the road Brayden was out.

Waiting at the airport to leave Dallas

Being very patient as we waited for luggage in Atlanta although he was very tired

We stayed with our friends, Jay and Allison, just like we did last year.  We love them and their boys so much and it was so great to get to spend time with them.  The first day we were there (Friday) we headed to the Atlanta aquarium with a total of 6 boys (Brayden, their 3 boys and then 2 friends) and Jimmy, myself and Allison. We all had a good time, although I have to admit I thought the hype over the famous aquarium was greater than the aquarium itself.  BUT, it was still neat and all the boys really enjoyed it.

Hanging with the big boys...

Love this picture of Brayden and Landon...

On the way back, Payton and Brayden passed out in the car... :)

The next day (Saturday) we headed out to visit with Jimmy's family.  We went to his Aunt and Uncle's house and got to see them, his cousin and family, and Jimmy's step-grandad.  We hung out at their house for a couple hours before it was time for Brayden and Julia's naps and then we headed back.  It was fun seeing Brayden and Julia together.  Julia is about 5.5 months older than Brayden.

Once we got back on Saturday, I took a brief nap and then Allison and I went out to get a mani/pedi, which I think was my third one ever.

By the time we got back, the Jimmy had prepared dinner for us all and after a bit of swimming we all ate some delicious food.  Of course this all came after Brayden had a pretty scary fall off the side of their spa, head first onto the concrete below.  He got a nice big bump on his head but ultimately was fine.  Glad he has a hard head... but it was pretty scary watching him fall, as if it happened in slow-mo.

Sunday it was rainy and we had intended to head to church with Jay and Allison and then pack up and head out.  However, Brayden was super cranky and was ready for a nap just in time for church.  So, we stayed behind while Brayden napped and packed up.  Once they got back from church, it was about time for us to head to the airport so we said our good byes.

The trip back went well although Brayden was very worn out by the time we got back to Dallas and after excitedly saying hi to Papa who picked us up he quickly passed out in the car on the way home.
