Jimmy and Shannon... and Brayden & Kyle too!: Hospital stay and going home

I stayed in the hospital until Wednesday morning. The first day was busy with labor, meeting big brother, and family coming up. The first night was a long one because they had to check on either me or Kyle about every hour it seemed. Jimmy didn't stay with me in the hospital because we learned with Brayden on night 1 that it was more harmful than helpful to have him there overnight. He couldn't sleep on the little bed chair thing and he would keep me up even more with his tossing and turning. He would come to the hospital each morning and hang out with me most of the day outside of the things he needed to take care of or meetings/appointments he had to go to.

Tuesday evening, my parents came up with Brayden and he ate Chik Fil A in my room and hung out for a bit while Kyle went to get circumsized (ouch!). Once Kyle came back to the room, they headed home with Brayden who was getting a little stir crazy in the room. Then, my good friend Jackie came by the hospital and hung out with me for a couple hours which was great to have company and to see her. Unfortunately her husband Jared couldn't make it because he was sick.

Wednesday morning, we were working to get discharged to go home so we were waiting on doctors and testing and paperwork. We headed home around 11:30am with our precious little boy!

I was very excited to be home; however, walking into the house, came with a bit of an overwhelming feeling for me. It made everything real... that I had two kids and made me a little scared of when Brayden would come home that day and how I'd handle it. So, thus those feelings along with being exhausted from the disruptions of the hospital made for a bit of an emotional afternoon. But, everything worked out and we've figured out a pretty good rhythm.
