4th of July

On the 4th, I was STILL pregnant despite my wishes as I was miserable, but in hindsight I'm glad because we had a great day.  We started the day at the Double Oak parade which has become our tradition.  It's a great little parade.  This year we had some friends meet us out there too and there was a crazy adult fight that happened right in front of us before the parade.  The boys' talked about that all day!  Luckily there were several other adults that broke it up quickly and then the police stepped in.  But still it was memorable to the boys.

After the parade, we went to my parents to hang out and then we headed home for nap time.  After naptime we went back to my parents house and my brother came out as well.  We all swam and grilled out.

 

That night at sundown we headed out to see fireworks with my parents.  We were all tired but Brayden had been asking about fireworks all day and was excited to see them so we wanted to figure something out.  Last year we went to the Flower Mound festival to see the fireworks but it took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot afterward so we didn't want to do that again.  We decided to try to find a place to see the fireworks but not at the festival so we started driving.  We saw a bunch of people setting up at this one gas station/strip mall on the side of the road so we decided to try it out.  It worked out pretty well.  We could see 3 different shows from the spot so we got to see our fireworks and then we were able to get home very quickly after they were over.
