4th of July

We started off our 4th this year with the Double Oak parade like we have for the last couple of years.  It's such a great small town parade and conveniently located that Mimi and Papa can walk over.  :)

Later that afternoon after nap time (for all) :), Mimi and Papa came over and we swam and grilled out.  Then after dinner and after eating our yummy flag cake we decided to head out to the Flower Mound Independence Festival.

I was a little worried about keeping them up late and I had hoped that Kyle would at least take a little snooze in the stroller before the fireworks but no such luck.  There were way too many people and things going on at the festival from all the kids games to the band etc.  However, both boys did really well despite being up 3+ hours after their bedtime.

Since there were so many people there, we decided to walk back to our car to actually watch the fireworks in hopes to beat the crowd out and get home sooner.  Again, no such luck.  It took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot after the fireworks. :(  Luckily, both boys and almost all of my passengers in the car including Mimi and Papa fell asleep in the car as I waited and waited in the lines to get out of the lot.  We got home after 11pm and quickly transfered the boys up to their beds after a long, fun day!

Waiting for the parade!

Jimmy going after the candy being thrown :)

At the Independence Festival... Mimi (on the phone), Kyle and I holding down our spot while Brayden, Papa, and Dada went to play/explore

Kept hoping he'd lay down but he didn't...

Kyle is so attached to Papa - loves him!

Waiting for fireworks... even though we ended up packing up and walking back to the car before the fireworks
